"The first time I saw Hard Core Logo, was also the first time I drank beer. It blew my mind. You have to understand that at that time beer was really exploding. The stubby had just been abandoned and a 'new wave' of drinking vessels had democratised the ancient elixir. Now everyone was doing it -- D.O.A., the Nils and Living Proof -- they were all experimenting with it. Seeing Hard Core Logo on beer while I was on beer was a religious experience. And now when I flash back to those hazy days I long to stumble around at the front of the ... smash the opening band's gear - smashed on ale. Nowadays, I don't drink anymore. Beer is as commercial as punk rock. There's no counter-culture beer these days- except maybe 'Red Dog' or 'Black Label'. Occasionally, I sip on an imported lager and listen to Shellac but it's just not the same."
